Student Services

We’re here to help you succeed. Explore the many resources and services available to you as an online student.

Technology Services

General technical support is available via the UHV Help Desk. We offer support for software and UHV account-related issues. You can also email the Help Desk or call 361-570-4399 during these hours.

For course-related issues (such as finding course material and resources in Blackboard), you can contact your instructor of record and/or your UHV Online Support Technician for assistance.

Library Services

The VC/UHV Library is a joint library serving the University of Houston-Victoria and Victoria College. We are committed to anticipating and satisfying your information and research needs. We also provide informational services to the community and region, within the limits allowed by the library resources.

Online students can access our vast collections, plus interlibrary loan services, a wide variety of databases, research guides and much more.

The library Reference Desk is staffed by a professional librarian whenever the library is open. Librarians can assist you with your research and provide assistance and instruction on internet-related searching through our “Ask a Librarian” service, reached via phone, email, text (to 361-356-4542), or online chat.

You may call a librarian at 361-570-4166 anytime we are open.

Financial Aid

Your education is a major investment. That’s why the University of Houston–Victoria offers a variety of financial resources to help offset your educational costs. More than 70 percent of UHV students receive some form of aid each year.

Navigating the financial aid process can be challenging. We’re here to answer your questions and to help you feel confident in the decisions you are making about your future. Start your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as soon as possible after applying to UHV. You’ll automatically be considered for most types of aid with this one application.

Then, check your UHV email account regularly for financial aid notifications, including requests for additional or missing information. The myUHV To-Do List will show you what to submit. UHV cannot award financial aid until the requested documents are submitted and processed. You can also check your financial aid application status on myUHV.

For more information, you can email the Office of Financial Aid or call 361-570-4125 during regular business hours. Don’t forget to follow us on Twitter, too!

Military Students & Veterans

Veteran Services provides current students who served in the U.S. Armed Forces with a variety of programs and services. This includes providing veteran-centered academic support, health and wellness resources, career-specific programs, recognition events, and other initiatives that support the continued success of veterans at UHV.

Plus, we are ready to help you apply for benefits for you, your child or your spouse. UHV is approved by the Texas Education Agency to provide Veterans Affairs (VA) educational benefits under Chapters 33 and 35, Title 38, U.S. Code. To expedite payments, veterans should contact the Office of Financial Aid at least 60 days prior to the first class day of each semester or term to complete the necessary forms and paperwork for that period of study.

UHV appreciates the service to our country that each of our veteran students has provided. As such, we have created the red, white and blue Patriot Cord to honor our graduating veteran students. Veteran graduates receive the Patriot Cord to wear at graduation as well as special recognition during commencement, all at no cost.

For more information on Veterans Benefits at UHV, email Ruby Dean or call 361-570-4129.
