I have been with the University of Houston-Victoria for 15 years and have 10 years of experience in the area of advising. I’ve also been an instructor for the First Year Seminar course since 2017. I have co-presented at the SAHMS Conference—on Influenza Among Rural African Americans in Texas 1918-1919—and at the Museum of the Coastal Bend—on Juneteenth: From Then to Now. My primary research interests lie in the fields of criminal justice and marginalized populations, ethnic and racial identity in college students, and academic advising approaches for a minority student population.
