All students attending the University of Houston-Victoria must be proficient in the use of English. Students must complete a total of 120 semester credit hours to earn the B.S. in Political Science with a concentration in pre-law online. Courses include: Freshman Seminar (3 credit hours), University Core Curriculum (43 credit hours), B.S. Program Requirements (8 credit hours), Political Science Program Requirements (9 credit hours), Pre-Law Concentration Courses (27 credit hours), and Electives (30 credit hours).

This course is waived for transfer students with 30 credit hours or who have taken a similar course from another accredited institution.

This course will provide an academic context for: (1) the understanding of the interdisciplinary nature of a college education; (2) study and life skills necessary for academic success; and, (3) opportunities for connection with peers, faculty and the institution. This course is required for freshmen students in all majors and any student entering the university with less than 30 SCH.

General education courses are required based on admission standing and transfer credits. PSCI 2305 and PSCI 2306 are prerequisites for the Political Science Program Curriculum.
